Office of University & Media Relations
We tell your story.
The Office of University Relations is South Carolina State University’s connection to the wider world. We shape and share the SC State story — building a strong, positive brand presence across South Carolina, throughout the U.S., and beyond.
We promote the university’s programs, achievements and services to the public, media and other key stakeholders, helping drive awareness of SC State’s contributions to students, families and communities. Our team also supports faculty, staff and administrators in developing and distributing impactful communications both inside and outside the university.
University Relations plays a vital role in planning and messaging for some of SC State’s most visible occasions, including Homecoming, Founders Day, and Fall and Spring Commencement — moments when the university’s story is most powerfully on display.

How we can help you tell your story
Telling Your Story at SC State
At South Carolina State University, every faculty and staff member contributes to
our mission in powerful ways. University Relations is here to help you share those
contributions — from groundbreaking research and community impact to classroom innovation
and personal achievements. Whether it’s a feature in our news section, coverage on
social media, or a spotlight in campus newsletters, we’re ready to collaborate and
tell your story with clarity, pride and purpose.
Submitting News for Consideration
We welcome story ideas and news tips from faculty and staff across campus. If you
or your department has something worth sharing — a notable achievement, an upcoming
event, a grant award, or a unique student success story — let us know. While we strive
to highlight as many stories as possible, please understand that not every submission
can be featured. Selection depends on factors such as audience relevance, timing,
and available resources. Even if a story isn’t developed immediately, we may revisit
it for future opportunities.
Let us know using our News Submission Form, which includes a simple template and ways to upload documents and images.
