Whitney King has dedicated her career to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and the professionals who serve them. As Executive Director of Destination Family Services, she leads a multidisciplinary team that provides behavior consultation and support services across 13 cities and counties in Virginia. She oversees program operations, regulatory compliance, staff development, financial management, and behavior treatment planning while expanding autism awareness, education, and community-based resources for individuals with complex behavioral health needs.  

King's leadership extends well beyond her organization. Throughout her career, she has directed operations across multiple human service programs, managed organizational growth, developed and delivered professional training, and collaborated with healthcare providers, educators, law enforcement, and community partners to strengthen services for children, adults, and families. Her expertise in behavioral health, Medicaid program operations, person-centered practices, and organizational leadership has led to appointments on the Virginia Autism Council, the Virginia Beach Social Services Advisory Board, the Intermediate Care Facilities Specially Constituted Committee, and the Virginia Positive Behavior Support Endorsement Board 

A graduate of South Carolina State University, King earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology before completing a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Special Education. Through executive leadership, community partnerships, and a commitment to person-centered care, she continues to expand access to services and strengthen support systems for individuals and families throughout Virginia.
