Leading Behavioral Health
Dr. TaTreka Middleton has built a distinguished career leading behavioral health teams and improving the delivery of psychiatric care. As a PRN House Supervisor for Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness and Colleton Medical Center, she oversees hospital operations, staffing, nursing care, quality monitoring, emergency response, and patient care coordination across multiple behavioral health units. Her leadership ensures safe, efficient operations while supporting patients with a wide range of mental health diagnoses.
Throughout her career, Middleton has advanced through leadership positions at Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness, the Medical University of South Carolina, Cone Behavioral Health Hospital, and Alamance Regional Medical Center. She has supervised multidisciplinary teams of more than 100 nurses and mental health professionals, directed inpatient behavioral health operations, recruited and developed clinical staff, and implemented quality improvement initiatives that enhanced employee engagement and patient satisfaction. As Interim Director of Nursing at Cone Behavioral Health Hospital, she led efforts that significantly improved group therapy satisfaction scores and employee engagement, while her leadership at Alamance Regional Medical Center resulted in the department earning a High Performing designation in all four areas of its employee engagement survey.
A graduate of South Carolina State University, Middleton earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Chemistry before completing degrees in public health, nursing, and psychiatric mental health nursing. Her career reflects a commitment to clinical excellence, operational leadership, and expanding access to high-quality behavioral healthcare through compassionate leadership and continuous improvement.
