From designing automated material handling systems to serving his country for two decades, Kendrick Heyward has built a career centered on engineering excellence, innovation, and service. As a Senior Advanced Application Engineer with Honeywell, he supports automation and distributed control systems by conducting system audits, troubleshooting technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and delivering proactive engineering solutions that help maximize system performance and reliability. His work also includes supporting customers through remote technical services, predictive analytics, and asset lifecycle management.
Throughout his engineering career, Heyward has led the design and implementation of material handling, warehouse automation, and logistics solutions for organizations including Americold, Stow Group, Fortna, NPSG Global, SSI Schaefer, and MasterBrand Cabinetry. His experience spans mechanical design, process improvement, project management, AutoCAD design, warehouse optimization, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. He has contributed to projects involving automated storage systems, distribution centers, cold storage facilities, and parcel handling operations while supporting customers such as Amazon, FedEx, UPS, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar.
In addition to his engineering career, Heyward has proudly served for 20 years in the South Carolina Army National Guard, where he currently serves as a Section Leader and Light Wheel Mechanic. A graduate of South Carolina State University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering before completing a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University and a Master of Engineering Leadership and Management from the University of Oklahoma.
