Adam Brown is a finance risk and compliance professional with more than 15 years of experience leading internal controls, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and governance initiatives across the federal government. As a Management & Program Analyst with Federal Student Aid, he leads strategy execution and risk mitigation for more than $500 million in federal program obligations, directing enterprise-wide internal control reviews, advising executive leadership, and developing innovative solutions that strengthen compliance, improve operational efficiency, and support audit readiness. His work includes designing automated reconciliation and reporting tools that increased review efficiency by 50 percent and reduced audit cycle times.  

Prior to joining Federal Student Aid, Brown served as a Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Financial Management Division, where he led compliance transformation efforts across 47 decentralized offices, directed more than 15 enterprise audits, and advised senior leaders on risk management, policy alignment, and operational improvements. Beyond his professional responsibilities, he has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to South Carolina State University through his service as Treasurer of the Washington, D.C. Area Alumni Chapter, supporting recruitment and fundraising initiatives for prospective students and young alumni. 

He also serves as Treasurer of Zion Church Greenbelt, providing financial oversight and recommendations to church leadership. Brown continues to expand his professional expertise by pursuing the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification and Project Management Professional (PMP) credential while building on leadership training through the CXO Fellows Program and specialized certifications in internal control assessment. His commitment to excellence, accountability, and public service continues to strengthen federal financial management and organizational performance.
