Hugine Suites Bunking Information

Hugine Suites Bunking Information

Bed Configuration – Must Be Bunked by Friday, September 12, 2025

All beds must be returned to the bunked position by Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.

This is required to comply with fire safety regulations and to ensure that all rooms have clear paths for emergency access and evacuation.

Important Clarification:

The Fire Marshal has approved Hugine Suite rooms for double occupancy only when beds are bunked. Debunked beds are not allowed under current safety standards.

Room Inspections Begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 12

Housing staff will begin walking through all units starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 to identify rooms that still need assistance with bed re-bunking.

  • Inspections will begin in Rooms B, I, H, and L.
  • If your room requires re-bunking, Facilities will be notified, and a technician will be scheduled to assist.

Students must clear all personal items from the beds and surrounding areas to prevent damage during reconfiguration.

Refrigerator Guidelines

  • Refrigerators must be 2.4 cu. ft. or smaller.
  • Units should be stored under the bed or in the closet to ensure safety and maximize space.

Television Guidelines

  • Televisions are permitted but must be 32 inches or smaller.

    Clarification Regarding Move-In
We understand there was some confusion during move-in regarding bed configurations. At that time, University staff had not yet received updated guidance indicating that debunking beds was not permitted. We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication and are working to improve how important information is shared in the future.
